Summary of the 8th Cine Fest Petrobras Brasil–NY -  2011

The 9th Cine Fest Petrobras Brasil – NY, oficial event of New York’s Summer calendar, returned to Manhattan from the 12th until the 19th of August to present the films which best portrayed the Brazilian cinematographic industry in 2010/2011.

During 8 days, the public sold out all the sessions at the Tribeca Cinemas to watch national productions, all of them New York Premières. After the screenings the party carried on at the Lounge Inffinito, with performances by the DJ Marcelo ETC! and the presence of special guests.

The closing night, at the Central Park SummerStage on June 19th, had a concert by singer Martn`ália and the screening of the documentary Elza, by Izabel Jaguaribe and Ernesto Baldan. The feature film Untangle, by Rosane Svartman and short film The Cake, by Robert Guimarães, were voted the best films in competition and were awarded the Crystal Lens.
