In 2011 the Brazilian Film Festival of Miami commemorates its 15th Anniversary, and to celebrate this landmark, we have prepared a special programming for this year’s event that will happen from August 19 to 27.

The Competitive Screenings will take place once again at the Colony Theater, with short and feature films competing for the Crystal Lens Award, the most prestigious award in Brazilian cinema outside of the country. Miami Beach Cinematheque will also host the Brazilian Film Festival, housing special screenings from August 19 – 23, honoring Cinema Novo pioneer and legendary auteur Arnaldo Jabor, with a handpicked selection of his films and a variety of documentaries.

Closing Night will have the announcement of the Crystal Lens Award winner and the screening of “The Supreme Happiness”, by Arnaldo Jabor.

The Festival, part of the official calendar of events of the cities of Miami and Miami Beach, the Festival is recognized by the Brazilian Agency of Cinema, the Ministry of Culture, the Audiovisual Secretariat, APEX and local governments as an effective business and communication platform for media, companies and professionals from the audiovisual sector.
