Cinema is back to Canudos for the 4th consecutive year. Cine Fest Brasil – Canudos, a festival that has achieved regional recognition and attracts audiences that travel from neighboring cities will take place April 4-17.

The 2011 program includes 5 nights of outdoor movie screenings in Canudos’ Main Square, performances by the Sounds of Canudos Project, which promotes the region’s culture and audiovisual workshops as part of the ABC of Brazilian Cinema project.

Nine of the Brazilian productions from 2010/2011, among them feature and short films, will be screened in town. After each session the inhabitants of Canudos will have the chance to vote and chose the best film which will take home the trophy “Lente de Barro”.
