HOW FILM FESTIVALS CAN PROMOTE BRAZILIAN FILMS

Every year there are hundreds of film festivals held in the U.S., some of them have reached high status, such as the Sundance Film Festival, Chicago Latino Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, and the New York Film Festival.

The presence of Brazilian films in these events is a very efficient way to diffuse our films and an important tool to promote the Brazilian movies in the U.S.

Our objective is to form a network between the organizers of these festivals and Brazilian producers, aiming to understand how these events see the Brazilian product, how exactly the participation of the Brazilian films in the festivals is and which ways we can increase this participation. Should the exchange process between festival organizers in Brazil and abroad be improved? Could these events be considered a gateway to our products in the U.S.? Is the Brazilian participation efficient? How do the organizers of American festivals see our production and participation? What needs to be improved?

President of the Panel : Cláudia Dutra - General Director – Brazilian Film Festival of Miami/New York

Guests:
Antonio Leal- Vice President - Brazilian Festival’s Forum
Pepe Vargas (Chicago) – Executive Director – Chicago Latino Film Festival
