HOW TO ATTRACT AMERICAN PRODUCERS TO FILM IN BRAZIL

The creation of a film commission in the Brazilian states is necessary to increase the growth of local co-productions. We have, for example the Amazonas Film Commission, which annually participates of many Film Festivals outside Brazil, presenting incentives to foreign productions to choose the Brazilian scenery for their films. Several productions were made in the state of Amazonas.

When it comes to advertisement, Brazil has grown significantly: Ipanema Beach, Arcos da Lapa and Santa Teresa were used in different film advertisements, bringing the images of Rio de Janeiro to the world, through publicity campaigns of several companies, such as Nike, Canon, Peugeot, Kellogg’s among others.

The reasons for these companies to choose Brazil, according to professionals are: racial diversity, breathtaking landscapes, good lighting during the day, high-qualified professionals and productions costs that can represent up to 50% in savings.
Does this panel aim to perceive the actual numbers of this market? What kind of tools and incentives do we have? What kind of structure do we have? What does our legislation say? Do we offer attractive costs? What is the experience of the advertisement industry and the vision of the American market?
