I CINE FEST BAHIA – International Audiovisual Festival

“The most cinematographic city in Brazil deserved an International film festival.” It is with this strategic vision that “Inffinito Events and Productions,” “Orient Films” and “Bahia Network” organized the 1st Cine Fest Bahia, which will add the State of Bahia to the route of film festivals, strengthening the local cinema industry even more.

Cine Fest Bahia will be the first international film festival to be held in Salvador with the support of local government. 100 movies will be shown, divided in 9 exhibits from 26 countries, and with 200 national and international guests.

In addition to showing the movies in 24 movie theaters in the city, the Festival will have an outdoors structure for playing national movies for free. The main objective is to integrate the local community to the Brazilian cultural product.

The event will also offer free workshops in order to give the community professional education. In addition, seminars and workshops delivered by renowned professionals will be offered, aiming for involving the community and cinema students in the market.

“Cine Fest Bahia” will also enable the encounter professional in the Brazilian audiovisual industry with international guests, encouraging the cultural and professional exchange among the countries involved. The end of the event will take place at the renowned Theater “Castro Alves” with international music shows, broadcasted live by Bahia Network.

Despite being the most cinematographic state in Brazil, Bahia has not had such a big festival. “Cine Fest Bahia” will fill in this gap, offering an exchange among authorities and audiovisual world-market representatives, tourism growth and international visibility, commercial contracts between Brazilian professionals and Latin America, Europe and the United States, prospective co-producers and exposure for Brazil as a location to attract international producers.

“Cine Fest Bahia will contribute for the consolidation of Brazil as a great audiovisual producer, besides taking part in the citizenship education and social inclusion,” says Adriana Dutra, Inffinito’s associate director.
